A larger sales team, a new Durban premises and the imminent launch of our first Pietermaritzburg branch – 2023 has certainly gotten off on a busy foot for our KZN team; and we have no intension of slowing down anytime soon.
By now, many of you would have heard about the exciting developments for Pienaar Brothers in Natal. In a number of days, we doubled our KZN staff compliment and put pen to paper on a new lease that will offer our customers an improved business experience through increased parking bays, an expanded office space and a professional showroom to display our expansive product offering.
With the assistance of Beach and Bush, a renowned South African teambuilding company, we hosted an event for our new KZN team on 10 February at our new premises in Riverhorse Valley. 22 staff members were divided into 4 groups, and each group was presented with a minimised piece of the bigger picture.
Through teamwork and collaboration, the groups worked under time pressure to complete the various stages of the project without any visual reference as to what the other groups were doing. Leaders came to light; cheerleaders were unearthed and those who often sat silent sprung to the forefront to carry their teams to the end.
While the result may not sell for a 6-figure sum at the next art auction, it will remain invaluable to each member of the KZN Team; as through the imperfections, we all came to understand the role we play in achieving the bigger picture and ensuring that we continue to service you, our customers, to the very best of our abilities.
